Merry Christmas

Today I was thinking to myself...what exactly is the definition of "Merry?" We walk around and say "Have a Merry Christmas!" to one another with such sincerity but what does it really mean. I decided Merry meant joyful, loving, exuberant...something along those lines!

I looked up the exact definition and I found the words: Pleasure, High Spirits, and Festivities. I wasn't too far off in my asumptions but I left my very small research project longing for more!

I encourage you this delightful week of Christmas to not only be high-spirited as you travel to MANY different festivities but to take time to seek after the ONE who this season began with! In the midst of making beautiful memories this Christmas week look for ways to include our Lord and Savior into those memories! Read the Christmas story with a renewed enthusiasm (found in Luke if you are not sure), Memorize a new verse, Take a walk and revel in the beauty our Lord generously created for us, on Christmas morning give your kids a hug and kiss and say, "Not only do I love you but Jesus love you SO SO much!"

Enjoy this blessed season. May our Lord and Savior be a focal point for you as you celebrate!

  1. Jennifer,

It is early Thursday morning, the day before Christmas Eve and I just found your blog. Now, I don't know much about blogs and so little about the new technology around but your words spoke to me.

Dear one, you have become such a lovely woman, mother, wife, and Christian that I feel so blessed that our family has you! I have loved you since you were that little baby in Blue Island, Illinois and I love you now.

We have lived so far apart and the years are creeping upon me. Arthritis pretty well tells me what I can do and sometimes the pain is so bad but I praise the Lord the it goes away when I sit down.

Our Bible study was devoted to the second chapter of Luke last week and we dissected it. I mean, we dissected it. We enjoyed finding blessings from thing we had not really thought about.

This is getting way too long but please know that I love you and treasure every picture I find of your sweet family on Facebook. In fact, you are the only reason I read it, to find recent pictures of Anderson.

Have a very Blessed Christmas. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you!

    Grandma
