"Doing" or "Being"
Today was a great day. I was able to get a few things accomplished but spend some quality time with Anderson. I constantly have to remember that it is not God who makes us busy it is our society telling us to be busy. I have been very convicted lately about spending too much time "doing" and not enough time "being." By that I mean, "doing" things for church, piano lessons, pregnancy services (where I volunteer), and not taking time to "be" a wife, mom, friend, etc.
So after three crazy days this week I put a hold on the intensity of "doing!" It really does take will power to not be a slave to your "to do" list but my "to do" list will always be there. Moments with my boy will not!
Today I decided to take Anderson on a date. We hung out a McDonalds for awhile and then went grocery shopping. You can actually make grocery shopping fun, you know? Today I made it fun by spilling my coffee in aisle nine! In my shock of spilling my coffee, I realized I sent Anderson flying away in the cart. Thankfully the cart did not crash into anything! Anderson and I had a bit of a laugh while I cleaned up my spill with baby wipes and then finished shopping with a very wet, soggy, brown grocery list to use!
Anyway...the weekend is coming. Are you going to just keep "doing" or focus on "being?" Why don't you take a few hours or even an entire day to throw out your to do list and have fun being a mom, wife, friend, etc.!
Here's to a great weekend! Enjoy!
