Give Me A Break
Give me a break
Give me a break
Break me off a piece of that...
sippy cup, diaper, dirty clothes, etc.
You might be thinking I've lost me mind! How many of you remember that Kit Kat commercial where different people sang the little jingle? Well...this past week my mom gave me a break from caring for a one year old...not a Kit Kat bar!
I'm learning that we all need to take breaks every now and then because it is HEALTHY! Last week my mom said, "I'll take Anderson for a couple of days." At first I was hesitant because she and I were preparing for a big family vacation. I decided it would be fine and finally realized that I really do need a break every now and then! My husband is teaching me this: "self-care is stewardship!" Think about that one for a minute!
So...in my efforts of peeling away these emotional layers and learning how to depend not only on myself but on God and others I'm learning to let others help me! I think so many of us struggle with that but really, what is the point of doing it all ourselves and making everyone around us miserable?
If someone offers to help you this week...let them! If no one offers to help you this week...teach someone HOW to help you!
Hope you have a wonderful week and I'm going to have a wonderful family vacation!
Here are some pictures I promised from Anderson's very fun first birthday party!
