Trust or Tyranny? You might be thinking, "What in the world are you talking about Jen?" That's okay...let me explain. I've recently read an excerpt out of a book called Facing Our Fears. It says the following, "If we do not trust God's promises and, therefore, do not step out in faith and surrender, we will ultimately find ourselves in bondage to the very things we refuse to surrender. We will end up being controlled by that which we are seeking to keep within our own control.
Trust or tyranny. That is the option. Trust the promises of God - which will free you to live joyfully under His loving Lordship - or live under the
tyranny (power) of that which you will not surrender."
Ouch, right!!! I have struggled with being in bondage to several things over the years and feel that I have truly found FREEDOM in my Lord! Although I've found freedom I still struggle at times. Those past scars from bondage still creep up and I have to remember to rely on the TRUST I have in my Lord and not feed into those scars. If I start to give that former bondage too much attention I will then be living under the power of that bondage and need to completely surrender once again! I'm thankful for a God that I can trust and I encourage myself and you to surrender those things we call bondage. Freedom in Christ is wonderful!!!!

I continually struggle with trusting God day to day, almost as if what he has planned for me will disappoint me or something. It's silly, but that doesn't make it any easier.
