Sippy Cups, Songs, and Silence

Sometimes I am amazed at how much of a whirlwind my days are. I'm the type of mom who daily is going places, involved in things, etc. which probably contributes to the whirlwind (trying to work on that whole over commitment thing!). I find myself chasing, feeding, comforting, teaching, changing, and hopefully laughing with my precious little one year old. It's amazing how one twelve month old can consume your days!
Nap time and bed time have become two of my favorite times...simply for the fact that Anderson and I can sit and be quiet. After we have leaking sippy cups, tears, smiles, and giggles it comes to nap time. When we're at home I will rock Anderson for a little while just to let him unwind and then put him in his crib to fall asleep. We do the same at bedtime but we read a book and sing a song. Lately I've been singing "Oh How He Loves You and Me." When I say "you" I touch Anderson's nose and when we say "me" he touches my nose. The other night as we were sitting quietly it struck me how much He (God), really DOES love us! I forget amidst the leaking sippy cups, diapers, chasing, and laughing that God aggressively wants us...it just depends on how aggressively we want Him!
I ache to have Anderson grow up to know the Lord that I am so desperately in love with! I'm so thankful for little reminders of God's love throughout days of Sippy Cups, Songs, and then...silence! AHHHHH.
