oceans
Sometimes life feels like the rough, choppy, crashing waves of the ocean and other times life feels like the smooth, calm, glassy waves of the ocean. As I have grown in my spiritual walk with the Lord I have found that he can be a constant among the seeming roller coaster of life. While I am still tempted to get frustrated in the stressful and hard times I know He is holding my hand. While I am still tempted in the easier times to do things on my own I have learned the beauty of constant dependence upon God at all times.
Psalm 46 (the Voice)
"God is our shelter and our strength, When trouble seems near, God is nearer, and He's ready to help. So why run and hide?
No fear, no pacing, no biting fingernails, When mountains crumble and the waters run wild, we are sure and fearless.
Even in heavy winds and huge waves, or as mountains shake, we are sure and fearless."
-In those hard times we depend on God to be our strength, our help, our constant. We want to run but from whom? God is more powerful than the crashing waves of life. He loves us deeply!
Ephesians 4 (the Voice)
"Be humble. Be gentle. Be patient. Tolerate one another in an atmosphere thick with love. Make every effort to preserve the unity the Spirit has already created, with peace binding you together."
-In those times that seem to be easier we continue to depend on God to humble us, helps us have a gentle spirit, and grow us in patience. In these times he opens our eyes to see people for who they are - individuals hand crafted by our God. A strong God. A compassionate God. Our God.
You see, as we grow in the "easy" times it helps us to continually depend on God in the hard times.
As we grow in the "hard" times, it helps us to continually depend on God in the easy times - knowing He is our constant.
Where do you find yourself today? Is God your constant among the roller coaster of your life?
