Hungry?
Hey everyone! I've been thinking lately about what this blog has become. I feel it is pretty much my own spiritual journey out there for everyone to read and somehow I keep hearing that it is encouraging different people...so...I'll keep doing what I'm doing. Thanks for listening and I will say - I am so thankful for a God who wants to work in our lives and allow us to have freedom in Him!
Last week I encouraged myself and you as readers to take quiet time with God. Have you taken any quiet time? I made it a priority last week and it was awesome to sense the presence of God in my life. I'm going to continue to make it a priority in my daily life...when it doesn't happen I won't call myself a failure but daily quiet time is something I sense God calling me to.
I recently heard an analogy that builds on the concept of having quiet time with God. A friend of mine said a former pastor of hers once asked her the question, "How are you being fed?" "Are you feasting or snacking?" This question is not related to how we all ate at the Super Bowl last weekend! It's referring to our spiritual lives. Are you grasping or feasting all that God has to offer you or are you just eating "snacks" here and there? Sure snacks fill us up a bit and make us feel better but it doesn't last. When we are feasting we are truly filled with abundant satisfaction. That is what God longs for us. I would say that I've been "snacking" if you will but am slowly making my way to "feasting." The more I experience all God has to offer the more I crave Him to mold and shape me into his beauty!
So...How are YOU being fed? Are you feasting or snacking? God wants you to dwell in His glory. This doesn't mean you ignore everything else in life. Look for God throughout your day. How has God worked in your life that day or week? Pray to Him throughout your day. Take time to be quiet before Him. Let the presence of God fill you!
