Grace
I am constantly learning about the power of God's grace. Today I heard a great speaker say this: "despise the means, forfeit the grace." That was very powerful to me. I interpret this as the Lord saying, I want you to do (fill in the blank_____)and we say, "but that's not really how I think it should be." We then forfeit the grace. How many times have we "missed out" because it wasn't how WE WANTED it?
This hit home for me because I have really sensed the Lord guiding me to not work full time and focus on raising my awesome little guy! This has been hard...I would love to be thriving in my career as a teacher but...it is not worth forfeiting the grace of God. I've been reminded by a mentor at my church that the time we put into our kids will be reflected and lived out by the interactions our kids have as adults. That is powerful if you really think about it.
My prayer for myself: Oh Lord...help me to thrive in the means you have provided me.
My prayer for my little guy: Oh Lord...help him to grow solid in his faith in you. As you mold him and shape him put your hand and your spirit upon him.
Are you thriving in or despising the means the Lord has giving you?
